The Institution has VTU approved Research & Development Centres in the department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Civil Engineering, MBA, Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. The Institution regularly conducts Seminars, Workshops, Hands on Training, Conferences, Pre-Placement Training, HR Conclaves, Project Competitions, Design Competitions, Quiz, Industrial Visits, etc., for the overall development and up gradation of the knowledge for the students & the staffs. The Institution has been receiving grants for research from government organisations such as VGST, Department of IT, BT & ST, ISRO, DST, AICTE, KSCST, etc., The Institution has listed in the GUINESS WORLD RECORD awarded for blood donation at multiple centres organized by NSS unit of EWIT at campus for the benefit of the society. The Institution has membership with various Professional Bodies such as ISTE, IEI, ICI, CSI, IEIE, BITES, etc., The Institution has MOUs' with various companies and institutions to get sponsored internship for student projects & Facilities to Support Innovations and Start-ups.

BNM Institute of Technology is one of the seven Institutions managed by BNM Charities which opened its doors in 1972 to disseminate knowledge through teaching and learning and to enhance human values in the society in meaningful and sustainable ways. BNM Institute of Technology was established in 2001 now has 142 faculties to provide high quality technical education offering five undergraduate programs namely, CSE, ISE, EEE, ECE and ME, three post graduate programs namely, CSE, VLSI and CAID, MBA and Ph.D. in all programs. All communication happens on line to all the stake holders through CMS including parents. Students have shown consistently good performances and bagged 70 Ranks with 43 gold medals at University level. A startup company SenseSemi Technologies and Toyota Kirloskar Centre for Excellence are set up and running in the campus. Most of our students get placements in MNCs through campus recruitments.
